How to give labetalol infusion?

It is necessary to dilute the prior infusion usage. Labetalol injection dilution is performed by diluting 100 mg labetalol in 30 mL sodium chloride (0.9%). The injection is administered through a syringe. It can be used twice a day or per the doctor’s recommendation. Labetalol infusion rate must be 120 mg to 160 mg per hour. The dose must not exceed 200 mg.

The injection is administered intravenously. The recommended labetalol injection dose can be 20 mg to 50 mg, given over an hour. The dose is adjusted as per your age, the severity of the condition, and symptoms.

The recommended labetalol injection dose for pregnancy is 20 mg administered over an hour. The dose can be increased every 30 minutes until blood pressure is reduced to normal.

The injection dose for lowering blood pressure after a heart attack is 15 mg in an hour through the drip.

The dose for controlling high blood pressure is 2 mg administered per minute due to other reasons.
